+The Camp System
+By Jane Shuter
+The pictures I’ve seen throughout the book so far are pictures of the victims in the camps, prisoners doing work for the Nazis and getting beat at the same time, Jews being hung, and their uniform.
+The Nazis wanted the camps to work efficiently and to pay for themselves, or even just make a profit. The concentration camps were not to cost the government anything to run. Nazis created tickets that they would sell to the Jews to send them to the camps. This way, the Jews would think they were going somewhere decent. Once the prisoners arrived at the camps, they were stripped of their possessions. Sometimes even the Nazis did not agree with what was going on at the camps and they would write it what was happening on a paper and hid it (hoping someone would find it.)
Life and Death in Hitler's Europe.
This book explains how not everyone living in Nazi Germany accepted the Nazi beliefs. Many were to lie and pretend they agree'd in order to stay out of the camps. Many worked secretly against the Nazi's. But then there were also people who were basically hypnotized by the Nazi's, who accepted all Nazi propaganda as the truth. There were political groups in other countries who shared Nazi beliefs, including their beliefs about race. They happily collaborated with the Nazi's. Nazi's had an ideal family too. They believed that Men should work and fight, Women should care for their home and raise many strong, healthy children. Nazi Germany tried to influence many different countries to collaborate with them also, and get help with the war. Hitler and the Nazi's demanded that people accept and obey Nazi ideals. If they do not accept they would be sent to camps to be killed. They called it gheichschaltung, meaning that everyone looked at life in the same way.
This book shows how crazy the life was during the holocaust, and how seriously the Nazi's were taking it that they would turn against their own people and let them suffer with the Jews just because they did not agree.
Section title: The loss of childhood
Picture description:Theres picture of Anne frank.
Summary: In Austria ANTI-SEMITISM had been growing as the Nazis came to power in Germany. when German troops marched into Austria in march 1938,austrian Nazis took over the government. within two years after the 1040 occupation of Belgium, Jewish children are taken out of public schools, often made to pin yellow stars to their clothing indicating their status as Jews and ganged up on by other children. restrictions were applied to Jewish children in all the countries the Nazis occupied, including the netherlands, belgium, france. They were barred from schools, playgrounds, ovie theaters and even swimming pools, parks.
I have learned many things from this book like that in 1933 the Nazi party led by Adolf Hitler came to power and became the only political party in Germany. The Nazis wanted to create a huge German empire called the third Reich. I also learned that between 1938 and 1945 , the German army marched into and occupied much of Europe including Poland, France, the Netherlands, and parts of the soviet union. Nearly defecting the British empire, France and the U.S.S.R. During this time the Nazis systematically killed off many of the people who they thought of as undesirable. The largest group of people killed were called the Jewish people. The Nazis killed between five and six million Jews in what became known as the holocaust. They were to destroy all of the Jewish people in the areas they controlled. I think this is the most inhuman behavior next to the dark ages. This was madness, the Nazi party was wrong and suppressed with there ideals.
Elie was probably confused with whether he should give the water to his father or not because the water would harm him, but refusing to do it made him feel worse because his father would say things to make him feel bad. After Elie finds out that his father finally is dead, he does not weep. I think that Elie had gone through so much and saw his father suffer so much that it was most likely better off with his father dead so he did not have to suffer anymore. Plus, being dead was basically like getting away from all the pain and suffering the Nazi’s brought to them. I wonder how and what kept Elie going during his final experiences as a German prisoner. If I could talk to him, I would ask him questions like “What were some of the first few things he did when he was free.” “How long did it take for him to feel like he was living a regular free and normal life again.” “Has he gotten into any contact of any family members that survived it also.”
The name of the book that I read is the Heroes of the Holocaust and I raed the second section of it. This book shows a lot of details of all the things that the Germans went trough. This book also shows the way that Hitler would trick the Germans. He would poison their heads and tell them lies about the Jews. The conflict between the Germans and the Jews started since the war world . The book also shows how the Germans fight dirty. They had conflict between each other for a long time. The conflict started getting worse after the Jews started doing the jobs that the Germans wouldn’t do. At this time many Jews worked as storeowners. There wee few vehicles left to carry food. So the food was more expensive and the Jews owned stores would have to charge more for the food. So this is another thing that the Germans got the Jews for. The Germans would say that the Jews were trying to get rich and that’s why they charged so much for the food. The book also has several pictures one of the picture shows a big fat Jew and that is the way that they would represent them. I think that it is sad that the Germans followed after Hitler.
War killed millions. One out of every three Jews in the world was killed. Six million Jewish civilians and they weren't soldiers, these dudes were murdered. Untermenschen was a word the Germans used for people who they thought were less than human. International law says that a nation may not murder its own citizens. The Nazis broke all of these laws and others. World War 1 ended in November 1918 and Germany was defeated. There was not enough food and people starved and there was no work. Germany’s first democratic government was formed after the war. People who are defeated, hungry and jobless become bitter and frustrated. Jewish shops were vandalized by Nazi storm troopers. Lots of people don’t even believe in the Holocaust. There were no jobs when Germanys postwar government was in turmoil. War had messed up all transportation systems. There was no way to get food to the people. German money had no kinds of value. Hitler came to power in 1933. Jews originated in the Middle East.
