The Holocaust began in Germany at the start of World War 2. Germany’s armies swept across Poland, France, Holland, and they brought the destruction of Jewish communities. 1945, six million of Europe’s estimated nine million Jews were dead. 200,000 mentally and physically disabled people were killed. More and more people joined Hitler’s Nazi Party. Germany experienced economic troubles. The Treaty of Paris that ended the war left Germany bankrupt and isolated. Hitler and his Nazis soon gathered enough followers to take over control of Germany. Synagogues and Jewish graveyards were vandalized. In 1939, German armies attacked Poland. I thought that this book had tons of information. When Austria had beef, German troops moved in around 1938. The Germans who tried to help Jews, always had to be anonymous. They always had there life at stake. I think that it was very brave for the people helping out the Jewish people because their putting their own lifes on the line. So I think the real hero’s are those who were out there looking out for others.

At first, Jewish children were allowed to stay in ordinary schools, although they were bullied and used as teaching aids. When they were used as ‘Teaching aids’ they were used in race studies. Ursula Rosenfeld, a Jewish girl living in a small town near Hamburg, Germany remembers: “Suddenly, no one would share a desk with me. I had to sit in a corner, at the back, on my own. When they had race studies I had to stand outside in the corridor. When I went back into class I could feel the tension. Everyone was staring, looking at you as if you were a vermin.” The Nazi’s insisted that all children in Hitler Youth groups wear a uniform like this one and learn to obey orders. It was especially important for boys, as later they were expected to serve in the army. Nazi posters from the time (behind the uniform) made this connection clear. Even before war was officially declared they had children and regular people wear gas masks. People in Britain and France also had to wear them. People were just carrying the masks around, even children.

The Survivors of the Holocaust is the book I’m reading. The section of the book is The Holocaust. The camps played a large part in the Holocaust. It was a deliberate attempt for the Nazis to kill all the Jews. The Nazis used the first camps as prison camps. Most of these prisoners were Jewish. The reason for them being imprisoned was because of their political beliefs. Many of these people died because of the harsh ways. The Nazis still didn’t close the camps. Instead of closing the camps they expanded them. The Nazis filled their camps with religious people. The Nazis were the Aryan group. The religious people were Jews. Also were the Gypsies. Their were thousands.

Section title: The Aryans That Aryans slaughtered.
Picture description: The picture had prisoners in gypsy in the year 1971.
Summary: This section had talk about how the Romany were Aryans, just as the Germans were. But this did not prevent them from being prosecuted in Germany. Before Hitler had come to power the laws targeting gypsies were passed in both Germany and Austria. During this time the Nazis were unable to deny that the gypsies were Aryans. To me this reminds when people cross the border and they see their own race has a border patrol they forget were they come from this is something that is really similar to the Nazis. In 1928 Germany was still s republic ruled by the Weimar constitution which guarantee equal right to all. What I think about this section is that it sad when people from your own race tries to put you down. When they should be helping each other has a team.

As soon they got to the camps the weak, old, and young were sent to the gas chambers to die. They did that because they didn’t need them because they couldn’t work. Hitler was born in Austria, in 1889. After World War 1, he became involved in politics. Not all the Germans were with Hitler. Many lost their lives trying to stop the SS. The ideal race in Hitler’s point of view, was white, blond hair, and blue eyes. The Germans would show Jewish people doing bad things in children's book so they could fear and hate the Jews. Some people would paint only so they could survive. Ann Frank was a Jew that was in hiding. They found her diary and published it. Jewish people were sent to ghettos. Many people were killed for drawing things that the SS thought of wrong.

In January 1940, a mouth after Jack arrived at his uncle’s the Nazis demanded the services of three hundred adults every day to assist with work projects. With just nine hundred Jews in the village, this meant every adle-dodies adult male had to work. Since but there were some well-off people who didn’t want to do this labor and they were willing to pay for someone to take their place, Jack said. “I jumped at the chance. I had been helping out in my uncle’s factory wanting to do my share so I was learning what hard work was. The first day, the forced-labor crew’s job was to remove heavy snow from a road. Because they had no snow-removal equipment this had to be done with shovels.

+ Prelude to the Holocaust
+ Jane Shuter
+ There are pictures of Kristallnacht and the pictures of how Jewish homes and stores looked on the morning of November 10, 1939.
+ Kristallnacht means “The Night of the Broken Glass.” The Nazis organized an attack on synagogues and Jewish businesses and homes all over Germany on November 9, 1939. Nazis said that it was there response to a murder of one their Nazi officials. Herschel Grynszpan, a young Jew, shot a Nazi official from the German embassy on November 7, 1939 in Paris. The Nazis encouraged everyone to join in the violence against the Jews while saying they were only trying to prevent anymore violence. In fact, official Nazi documents indicate that Kristallnacht was a carefully planned event and Nazis were just waiting for an excuse to do it. About 200 synagogues were destroyed across Germany and almost every Jewish home and business was damaged. Gestapo’s in every area were told, “ As many Jews as possible, especially rich ones, must be arrested. For time being it should only be healthy men, not too old. As soon as they have been arrested, they should be sent to nearest concentration camp as soon as possible. “
+ The more and more I learn, the more I am fascinated. Of course, like I’ve said in all the other morning blogs, I am thankful to be an American in this time then to have suffered like the other innocent people in Europe at the time of Hitler’s rule.

The name of the book that I read is Life and Death in the Camps and I read the first section of my book. The book that I read talks about everything that happened on the camps. The book that I read starts out by talking about how in 1933 the Nazi party. The Nazi wanted to create a new German empire. The empire that they wanted to create was way bigger then the Germany so they needs to take over some countries. The Nazi party wants everyone to obey them and start to take actions against anyone that doesn't obey them. The Nazi party started disciplining anyone that they saw that looked as a political opponent. The Nazi wouldn’t put them in a regular prison they would put them in special prisons. The prisons that the Nazi came up with weren’t any better then a regular prison but worse they would have no trial and had no release date. The prisons worked because by 1935 everyone was to scared to oppose Nazi party. After a while the camps were meant for people that the Nazi labeled as “undesirable” and this camps were a big part of the Holocaust. The Nazi had three main camps the concentration camps, labor camps, and death camps and were run by the SS. Most of the people that were involved in all this went to prison specially the SS officers. The real meaning of SS is schutzstaffel or security staff. Most of the people that were in the camps changed and the only people that would decide who goes there would be the SS officers. The Nazi would say that the whole purpose of this camps were to discipline the people to Nazi believes and then they would get released. This never happened some were released at the end but approximately 6 million Jews died. I think that most of the people that were involved in all this should have gotten killed not sent to prison. The reason why I think that is because they did too many mean things to the Jews and deserve the worst.

Well what I’m reading today is about the Holocaust how did it started and why. The book that I’m reading is called “deniers of the Holocaust.” the holocaust was made not just to killed the Jews but some other people that the Nazis thought they were not perfect for their country. But the major of people they took were the Jews a lot died for hunger, bated by the Nazis and others were died for the camps. When the holocaust happen the Nazis didn’t wanted to live no evidence of what they did. They find book called death books that the Nazis did. They will write what they will do every day to the prisoners. They even took pictures when they will killed them all that evidence they wanted to destroy but for some reason they couldn’t get rive of them. Russians found thousand of bonds of the died people. George Santayana he still says that the Holocaust never happen it was but they never had the time to do it. Theirs a picture that it is in the book that a thousand of Jews are died in the floor of the concentration camp this picture was taken by the U.S.A army in world war II. The Jews became merchants and shopkeepers. The country by that time was not a country instead it was a collection of states. The Jews were considers different from the general population they were different by the ways of there beliefs and dress stile. Many stay in German because they thought they were in better law them any other Europe country. The German people accused the Jews of stilling their stuff money and other value things. What I think of all this stuff that happen that the Nazis wanted to not show the evidence of what they did I think its good that the Jews could finally say what happen to their families and their died could not just stay like that. What I read in here some Nazis say that they did this because it was their job I think no one only a monster could killed thousand of people specially children’s if it was their job will I think I will live my job because I couldn't killed anyone.

Some of the victims were innocent bystanders. Others had been deliberately targeted not because they were political opponents but rather because were Jews. The Nazi party had singled them out. In February 1920, the Nazi had issued a twenty-five-point party program. Point four declared that only those of German blood whatever their creed may be members of the nation. Accordingly no Jew may be a member of the nation.
Jews, however had been members of the German nation for hundreds of years the had fought in Germany’s wars. They were part of German culture and German life. They were Jews but considered themselves German as well. They had always known persecution being barred from owning land attending certain schools and engaging in some trades. They had even been subjects to physical abuse as had Jews in other countries.

Children of the slaughter.

This book explains how the German children were inflicted towards the war. During the war, about 200 thousand soldiers were left alive to fight. They desperately needed more soldiers. In last resort, German children who were part of the Hitler youth programs were trained to fight in the war. Children as young as 14 were signed up for active duty. 16 year olds were left to train many of the younger kids. They all died in great numbers. When the fatherland was invaded by Allied troops, all 15 year olds were left to defend their land. American Army took prisoners of war as young as 8 years old. The Americans even had to execute a 16 and 17 year old for being saboteurs. There were also boys and girls who were trained to be spies and to commit acts of espionage. The spies were called "Werewolf" They had a song they would sing and live by, but in the end they didn't know what to live by anymore so they ended up being Hitler Youth's victims.
I think its wrong how Germany wants a better stronger place for them, so they end up getting rid of the Jews. When they figure out that they are losing, they use the children of Germany. Those children are the same children in which they said was their "future" if they lose those children, they have no future. Germany was going mad and they were doing whatever they could just to make themselves feel better, and not caring about the consiquences. They were careless and only thought of themselves, they did not understand that going along with Hitler was going to ruin their lives.
