So far I like the book and it’s interesting to see what happens but I’m kind of confused with what’s going on. The part that I was most confused on was the part when all the Jew’s were put in the train carts and then when they stopped a German officer said that they would be getting off there but then on the next page it started talking more about the train carts again and how they were about to arrive at a camp. When I’m actually reading about it, it doesn’t seem that bad because nothing really bad has happened yet and the German officers aren’t even treating them badly, is that going to change in the rest of the book and everything isn’t going to be so nice then the Germen’s will turn mean once they get to the camp?

These are some questions I have:
Why do they use babies as targets?
What is the “Ghetto”?
Why when they were evacuated from their homes why were some people able to get food and water?
How come the women in one of the train cart screaming and saying that there was a fire?

I think that Night is an ok book. My first reason for that is there are a lot of Jewish and German words that I do not understand and can’t pronounce. A lot of the names are weird, so it is kind of hard to read if you don’t know a word. Then the problem happens so fast. In the beginning the Jews are having their normal life and nothing is wrong. By 20 pages into the book, they are already being sent to concentration camp. If a book is fast paced book you have to be able to follow everything. I think this is a fast-paced book.

My opinion on the most interesting part so far is when the Jews are on the train. The train is taking them to the camp. In each car there are about eighty people. They only get one or two loaves of bread and two buckets of water. I could not have lived like that for three or four days. In one of the cars where the main character was, there was also a lady. Her name was Madame Schachter and she was tired and hungry. During the day she was fine but when night fell, she went crazy. She would yell fire, and point out the window. N one believed her but she kept saying it. I think this was weird because she always yelled fire but there was not one. When the trains made it to their destination, Madame Schachter started screaming out fire. A German soldier came and opened the car door. Some Jews looked outside and there was an actual fire. My reason for liking this part was because it was like the Madame could see the future and it would come true. It was really mystifying

I think that the worse has yet to come in the story. I thought that the beginning was meant to throw you off, bringing the real terror in later on in the book. I also think that the story will jump right into being sent to concentration camps, and what took place there.

When i started reading this book i thought that it was going to be really interesting. I have read many books on the Holocaust and they were pretty interesting. I changed my mind about the book because it is very confusing and I would get lost constantly. My favorite part of the book is that its about the Holocaust. I liked the way the writer just got to the point in the book, he didn’t side track. In my opinion the most important part in this book is the way the Germans treated the Jews because that is the most important part.

When I stated reading this book I thought that at the beginning at this book it was going to start with German people killing the Jews right away but it didn’t. I don’t understand why they used babies as targets. Why the German people is starting being nice with the Jews at first. Then I started reading that German did not let the Jews get out of there houses. They also did not let them have valuable stuff the German will take it away. I don’t really understand this book that much is hard to pronounce the words that are in the book. Plus I’m kind of lost in what is happening in the book probably later I will get it but right know I’m so lost at the beginning of this chapter what the guy why was saying I didn’t really get but I think is going to be a good book.

Some of the vocab words are difficult to read and understand. So far the book tells about gruesome stories such as using babies as targets. These events were unfortunate. I think that with this book having words I’ve never seen before, it will make it difficult to understand at times. So far this novel is interesting, it gives us a chance to relive the horror many Jews had to deal with in the past.

I predict that everyone on the trains are being sent to concentration camps. This book is full of suprises. At first everything is normal, it shows how everything got started. But then later, it shows how the Germans came in and started enforcing rules. But, since they were threatened to be killed for not following rules, they basically went along with it to let it die out. Everyone seemed a little concerned about the rules. The Jews were told lies to keep them from escaping or getting everyone to panic. Word started getting out that the people who were away were being killed. No one wanted to believe it. They didn't have any proof of any story they were told. They never got any information from radios or television. All their information came from rumors. Everything is getting worse by the day, people are now on their ways to concentration camps unaware of what will happen to them. They are givin 2 loafs of bread and a bucket of water. Little do they know that they will literally be living in hell.

So far in the book Night I can see the unwillingness to believe that such evil could exist. It is the nature of man to believe that all have good inside and to live one’s life in the preparation of some impending doom is not to live one’s life at all. So you can say that they chose not to believe what was going to happen to them until it actually happened.
What I assume is the main character in the story is a highly religious person who can see the wisdom beyond his years he feel’s the connection to his religion that was probably instilled in him by his father who is also highly religious. So far in the book the have been shipped to a ghetto. They have also come across a friend that warns them of the impending danger but they refuse to believe him. They are soon to discover a fate worse than they could have ever believed.

So far I like how the book has started. I like that the main character is a kid that is very concentrated his religion. I like the fact that this story goes straight to the point. Its already to the point where the German Army came to where they live. Also they were put into Ghettos. I think that it is awkward the way that the Jews reacted when they were put in the Ghetto. They were so calm. They just kept agreeing with everything they said. They didn’t even ask questions. I would not have reacted like that. I would have probably yelled or would not have moved there. It would probably only make things worse but I would have tried. I would have also refused to wear that star. I think that they must be some really patient people. I also wonder why they didn’t ask any questions. Its like they really trusted the German. They also didn’t listen to that one guy that survived. They did believe anything he said and it is worse for them because they are going to suffer the consequences. When they brought the guy back into the Ghetto I think that they told him that they were going to be sent to a concentration camp.

The book that were ready is not really interesting. It was letting you now how the Jews are in German. The book had terror in the begging of the story. It’s a confusing book to read but I think that it will get more interesting more you read into the story. The Germans started to come in and started to give out rules. There going to start getting into more detail .

The book the class is reading made me think about suffering. The book made me feel bad for all the torture Jews had to go thru. The struggle that some Jews survived is unbelievable. It makes me feel grateful for my life. A lot of people’s life were taken away and some people live there life unappreciatively. I compare my life to that of the Jews and even in the worst days of my life can’t compare to their sufferings. I complain of things in my life while if my problem were in the point of view of the Jews it would be something they dealt with everyday. Yet a lot Jews remained humble. To me it seems that you must undergo great sufferings to receive true happiness. When you go thru more the more you understand, and the more you understand the more things go smooth making it easier in life………..in my personal point of view towards life.

This book is a really interesting book but it’s kind of hard to understand it. So far in the book is talking about a man whose name is Moche the beadle this man had work at a Hasidic synagogue. He lived in a little town in Transylvania where he spent most of his childhood. He was a really poor man most people didn’t felt embarrassed to be around him. What I think about this character so far is that he is not a person that he would hurt anyone even thought he is a really poor man he don’t have any bad intention towards people.

this book brings horror it is mest up what happened to the jewish people. this book makes me feel really bad for them, the ways that they had to live were cruel. also i think this is why they are so religious. this book is going to bring lots of horror knowing what happened to these people in those concentration camps. this book is interesting not just becuase thier is killing and such. but because this book touches people.

So far The book Night has provided some good examples of the calm before the storm that I know is approaching since this a book on the horrible time when the Jews were torn from their normal lives and placed in concentration camps. Their unwillingness to believe that an upcoming evil will devastate all and kill most is apparent in the first section of the book that I have read. Because of the warnings and the fact that they have been marked and moved into isolation from the outside world. I believe that one reason that they were so unwilling to believe that people were able to commit such evil it their day and age was because to live one’s life with an impending doom is not a way to live life. That being said if this was happening now to a group that included me I would, like them, not be startled or expect the worst possible thing that would happen.
The book Night follows the life of a boy at the age of twelve that is highly religious person. His father who is a Rabbi is more than likely the man who instilled the values of this boy stay with him after the congregation has left the temple to discuss scripture which I suspect also greatly strengthens this boy views on religion. Surprisingly he is seeking higher level of religion from his already high level of commitment to it by studding the cabbala. Beside the establishing of the character faith I have also read in this section that he has been marked with a yellow star of David to signify that he is Jew and has been sealed in a ghetto that had already his house was part of the ghetto that the germens forced the Jew into so some of his family member that lived in other parts were invited them to stay with him. He described among many thing that his windows were boarded up and that there were time were the penalty of life was They still have yet to discover the horrors that are yet to come. So much change already has occurred in the book that it is incredible that the worst is still yet to come with warning of what is to come presented by Ellie’s teacher of the cabbala and his gasping tale of survival from what he described as his grave. This was a small glance at the pain and torture that they will live trough if they live.
I expect this book to deal with his religion and how it is changing as his days in the concentration camp increase. I also think that this book will show us how they did to keep a little shred of humanity that they have left as they experience extreme torture.
